Terry Gunn, Charter Resource Group Biography

Terry Gunn joined Charter Resource Group in 2009 after having been a continuous client of Charter Resource Group for over a decade while leading health systems for Hospital Corporation of America in Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. HCA is the world’s largest private healthcare company. Terry was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Oklahoma where his dad was the CEO of the medical center at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. In high school, Terry learned to play multiple musical instruments, became an eagle scout, and fell in love with Cindy. They have been married 22 years and home school two sons, Cameron (17) and Ryan (13). Before becoming a second generation healthcare executive, Terry studied marketing in the business school at the University of Oklahoma and received a Masters degree in Healthcare Administration at the Washington School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. His first assignment in 1988 was with the Baptist Memorial Healthcare System before joining HCA in 1993. Terry served as the Assistant administrator at Summit Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee and as Chief Executive Officer of Stones River Hospital in Woodbury, Tennessee; River Park Hospital in McMinniville, Tennessee, and Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Terry retired from HCA after serving for four years as the President of the Carolina Market from Charleston, South Carolina. The Gunns will continue to reside in Sommerville, South Carolina while Terry works with Charter Resource Group. They have found the low country weather and network of friends to compliment their lifestyle and be conducive to Terry’s hobby of restoring 60’s era muscle cars and finding remote places to drive fast.
